"There are those who prefer certainty to truth, those in church who put the purity of dogma ahead of the integrity of love. And what a distortion of the gospel it is to have limited sympathies and unlimited certainties, when the very reverse, to have limited certainties but unlimited sympathies, is not only more tolerant but far more Christian." William Sloane Coffin

Mother Teresa hung a copy of this poem on a wall of the orphanage she founded in Calcutta. Its source is unknown.
Run
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be Kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis. it is between you and God; It is never between you and them anyway.

I wanna write about you too
I've been thinking about you a lot lately. I should let you know. I'll do it. Soon. I have learned more from you than I think you realize, I also know that I will continue to learn from you. You taught me about love, about priorities, about understanding, about patience. It was so hard for me seeing you for the last time in mortality. I didn't let you be the one to satisfy my own prideful desires, and selfishness. I regretted that for a long time. I saw you bloom, and change because of the Book of Mormon. It brings such great joy to my heart to see another person change and grow closer to Jesus Christ.
love notes
You are amazing. I felt a real essence of you, and who you are today. It was mesmerizing? Peaceful, um...I was in awe really. There are not words to describe it. You were put here on earth for a purpose, I am so glad that had an opportunity to know of your strength, to feel of your patience, and long-suffering. I honestly feel honored... I still am trying to figure out how to use words to describe how I felt today. You are special. You are a child of God. You are meaningful and useful to God. Thats all.

existentialism
existentialism
In post–World War II New York, existentialism seemed sexy, bohemian, and antiacademic. It was an “action philosophy,” a survivor's answer to nihilistic despair, and it went well with berets and saxophones, Abstract Expressionists in cold water lofts, and heroes of novels searching for authenticity in a universe of chance. For a certain extraordinary period of time, everyone wanted to be existential. Not everyone knew what this meant exactly, but everyone wanted the distinction. Misused and overused, the very word existential began to function as a sort of highbrow condiment of choice, the squiggle of French mustard that spiced up the hot dog of a banal observation. It was irresistible. To Norman Mailer, existential signified the cool of John F. Kennedy at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles in 1960—or maybe it meant a mutual climax achieved by anal intercourse. If you wore sunglasses in the subway and listened to Miles Davis, you were probably existential.
Such perhaps is the fate of certain avant-garde movements in art or thought. They arrive with the intent to move heaven and earth, and after they've gone, what they leave is their faded stylishness, and it's the same old hard earth, and heaven's as remote as ever.

Biology Blah
I feel like i should blog. Not that I really super want to
Something that i learned lately. There is this thing that I was learning about. the new research on bacteria and its behavior.
Ya know, i'm gonna preface this with a lil disclaimer, my grammar sucks, and i don't really care. I write how i think/talk. its english. English. It doesn't mean I'm more stupid, or stupider. it is what it is.
They have new research that shows that bacteria react socially. They communicate with each other and work together as a unit. And if one lil prokaryote isn't listening to the chemical messages, the bacteria can't function properly. Depending on what you want to define properly as, in terms of an infection, or in terms of a good functioning part of the body. Anyways. (do you say anyways or anyway) This is new research that they have and is supposedly the next thing for the antibiotics, and probiotics for that matter. If you want to know more about the cool new research you should look up a video on it. I would do a little linky thingy on here but one i don't know how, and two i'm too lazy to find the actual video, and thirdly, I can't remember the name of the young woman that reported on it.
So really, I haven't learned that much about this topic, because I can't really explain it, as you can see from the above statements. But the basic idea I know. Isn't that cool? Not that I can't explain myself, but about the fact that bacteria react socially to each other?
I think that the way that I think is connective. I think in my brain, it likes to connect one thing to another, and for some reason it makes better sense to me that way. association. that how you learn a language, among other methods.
But i think of several things when I think of this biological discovery. I think of Moses 7:18. I think of yokes. I think of Social Work. I think of globalization. I think of the greatness of technology. (and I want to complain about the people that complain about the world changing. "it used to be like this, and it was so much better in my day, blah blah blah". (I put the blah's in there on purpose, I think it's funny) I think of my abilities, and talents and what I am capable of and what I want my name to be known for.
that's all.
What a weird post. Maybe I'll get better at it one day.
